Facebook Forced To Change Privacy Policy
October 2nd, 2009 by adminSocial networking site Facebook has been forced to review its website privacy policy after falling foul of Canadian Law back in July.
Facebook has agreed to be more forthcoming to its users by detailing why and how it collects and records their information and data. It is thought that many of the other social networking sites are likely to follow suit and become more transparent in their explanation of their use of users information.
Facebook has said that as well as reviewing and updating its privacy policy, it will also give users greater control over the information they provide to third parties as nearly one million third parties offer quizzes and games for the site. This will be done by requesting the users consent to use their data with an explanation as to what the information collected would be used for.
Facebook have said that it will take approximately one year to implement all the necessary changes to their site.
